About the event

Join Nura (Nurit) Hertz — a passionate forager, culinary tour guide, and talented chef — for a fascinating conversation that explores the deep connection between Judaism, Israeli identity, and the land through food. Drawing on her upbringing in a religious kibbutz, her years of experience foraging in the Judean Hills, and her transformative journey into local and seasonal cooking, Nura will share insights into how food has historically shaped and expressed Jewish culture. She will discuss the significance of ancient plants, the evolving seasons, and the role of nature in shaping the culinary identity of Israelis today. Please note that this session is a lecture only, and no food will be provided.
